dhtMale hormones, testosterone, do not cause hair loss. One major cause of male hair loss occurs when testosterone is converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT causes hair loss in some women, but usually not until menopause. Women have less testosterone than men and therefore do not generally become fully bald. DHT issues are inherited from the parents, either the mother’s or the father’s family. DHT is a lifelong problem, but still it can be treated.

A sign of DHT is the gradual thinning of hair on the upper back of the head. If hair loss occurs elsewhere, it is a sign there is something other than just DHT at work. These others reasons can also affect the same area that DHT does.

If you believe that you suffer from DHT, book a time for hair root analysis.
